Tuesday, May 5, 2009 : Your malaysian food calorie guide

watch out cos im gonna drop some srs knowledge

here's something i found online. the credibility of the source is somewhat questionable, but hey. no harm in giving it a go.

so lets start with some health calculations.

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

The BMR is the amount of energy you need to sustain your life. This includes your breathing, organs and everything else you need to keep alive:

Men: BMR = 66 + (13.7 x wt in kg) + (5 x ht in cm) - (6.8 x age in years)

Women: BMR = 655 + (9.6 x wt in kg) + (1.8 x ht in cm) - (4.7 x age in years)

hmm nice.

next, we move on to calculating your daily calorie requirement.

Daily Calorie Requirement (DCR)

Next, we factor in how active the person is, by using the Activity Multiplier:

  • Sedentary = BMR x 1.2 (little or no exercise, desk job)
  • Lightly active = BMR x 1.375 (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/wk)
  • Moderately active = BMR x 1.55 (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/wk)
  • Very active = BMR x 1.725 (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days/wk)
  • Extra active = BMR x 1.9 (hard daily exercise/sports & physical job or 2xday training)
lol i hope this site will be helpful for my thesis

So this is the new year... I don't feel any different.

It's a little early, but i doubt i'll be in on new years eve to do my new years post.

so, geez.. where do i begin?

i've bitched alot throughout the year, but now that i look back, i cannot help but realise how awesome the past year has been.

you know. the usual. discovering stuff about music, people, faith, studies and lotsa other stuff which can't seem to cross my mind right now, but will probably pop up when im on the potty.

i know how lifeless alot of you are. and lazy. so i'll put many colourful pictures, with as little words as possible for you guys to fully enjoy this "hmmmiwonderifthisdudehasupdatedhisbloganot" time

So. I went for 3 concerts this year. thats a personal record.

Switchfoot, 2/2/2008

Explosions In The Sky, 19/2/2008

Death Cab For Cutie, 18/8/2008

Stoning after switchfoot. _I_ adrian

Then moving on with my Sydney and Melbourne trip, some of the best times of my life

Blue Mountains. Huei and Valerie and I

Some park in Circulay Quay, with a silhouette of me looking all cool

The Opera House, with me looking at it and away from the camera, and looking just as cool (if not, cooler) than the picture before this

Crowns Casino Melbourne, doing a pokie*

Hareshthenigger and I at Max Brenners, Melbourne

same caption as the picture above, but replace hareshthenigger with derek

Suzie and I at some burger place i cant really remember

Ever and a burger

A burger and I.
oh yes its called "grills/z" or something

So... i would like to make this post a tribute to..

my friends,

my friends, (also)

My friends(also also),

My friends (and band also)

(which are also known as the err. 7 aces. [and sheng li who so awesomely allowed us to perform]
and yeah im still not sure how julian came up with the name)
many many many many thanks for making my year both awesome and some parts shitty.
i stress more on the awesome. the shitty is just there for that little hint of honesty.
So, to celebrate the new years, "everybody put your best suit or dress on, let's make believe that we are wealthy for just this once"
death cab is awesome
*a pokie is a computerized slot machine, where you press (or poke) the buttons instead of pulling a lever like the one-armed-bandit, which is commonly played by elderly females in order to occupy the remaining time left in their lives after their husbands have passed.
